Hiper™ Family
The Hiper™ family of highly integrated, high efficiency, high power ICs is Power Integrations' newest line of product.
HiperLCS™ is an integrated LLC power stage incorporating a multi-function controller, high-side and low-side gate drivers, plus two power MOSFETs in a half-bridge configuration.
HiperPFS™ is a family of power factor correction (PFC) controllers with integrated high-voltage power MOSFETs. HiperPFS devices leverage an innovative control scheme that optimizes efficiency at light load levels. Additionally, compared with designs that use discrete MOSFETs and controllers, HiperPFS devices dramatically reduce component count and board footprint while simplifying system design and enhancing reliability. HiperPFS devices come in an extremely compact, low-profile eSIP™ package and are suitable for PFC applications from 75 W to 1 kW.
HiperTFS™ is a highly integrated power supply IC family for high-power applications. Uniquely, HiperTFS device family members incorporate both a two-switch-forward converter and a flyback standby power converter into a single, low-profile eSIP™ power package. As well as the two controllers, HiperTFS devices include high- and low-side drivers and all of the high-voltage power MOSFETs for the main and standby power converters. Therefore, HiperTFS is an ideal product for consumer, computer, and industrial power supply designs requiring main power from 120 W to 415 W and a standby converter capable of up to 20 W. The new devices particularly target applications requiring high efficiency and compact form factor, such as desktop PCs, TVs, and video game consoles.
HiperPLC™ is the first member of the family, and combines a Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) PFC controller, an LLC resonant converter and high voltage (600V) half-bridge drivers in a single IC package. It is Power Integrations’ first product targeted at applications for high efficiency offline power converters in the power range of 200 to 600 watts such as flat-panel TVs, 85+% efficiency Bronze, 89+% efficiency Silver and 92+% efficiency Gold PC main power and workstation power supplies, and the latest generations of high-brightness LED streetlights.
