US Executive Order 13221 - "1-Watt Standby" Order

Signed by U.S. President George W. Bush in July 2001, the "1-Watt Standby" order mandates that all federal agencies when purchasing products choose those with low-standby energy consumption. The Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) was charged by Bush to implement the plan and has released the FEMP Standby Levels.
