Green Packaging and RoHS Compliance

Power Integrations defines "Green" as products that comply with RoHS (restriction of hazardous substances) standards set forth by the European Union and are also Halogen Free according the limits fixed in the table below.

REACH Compliance Statement

REACH is the European community regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It deals with the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemical substances. The law entered into force on 1 June 2007.

Green Products

Green products are designated by G-suffix at the end of the Part-Number. (For example: LNK613DG.)

Presently, both LinkSwitch®-II and LinkSwitch-CV have been fully qualified as green products. In addition, Power Integrations is in the process of converting many of its existing products to Green packaging.

What is the Green Initiative? Who oversees it?

The Green initiative is a voluntary standard that major OEMs are embracing to promote the use of halogen-free product. At this time, there is no governing body.

Are Green parts also RoHS complaint?


How can I tell which Power Integrations products meet the Green Initiative and which do not? Will Green products have unique part numbers?

Power Integrations Green products will be identified with a "G" at end of part number. (For example: LNK613DG.)

Will all of Power Integrations products convert to use Green materials?

Have your Halogen Free products been tested for their flame retardant properties, per UL94 standard?

Yes, Power Integrations Green products meet the UL94 V-0 requirements.

What non-halogenated flame retardant substances are used in your products?

Power Integrations current set of qualified mold compounds are either flame retardant-free (self-extinguishing) or contain metal hydrate hydroxide compounds.
