DVD Player Applications

Power Integrations offers a broad range of highly integrated, high-voltage ICs for off-line power conversion in DVD power supply applications. Each IC includes a 700 V power MOSFET combined with control and protection circuitry on a single chip. Features include current limiting and thermal shutdown with automatic fault recovery capability to improve reliability, frequency jittering to reduce EMI and EcoSmart ® technology to dramatically reduce standby energy waste.

Simple ON/OFF control – no loop compensation required. Peak power up to three times continuous power. Adaptive on-time extension minimizes bulk capacitor size.
TinySwitch®-III Flyback Up to 28.5 W

On-time extension and tight I2f parameter to reduce size and cost of input capacitor and transformer plus OVP; Frequency jittering for EMI suppression.

TinySwitch-PK Flyback 7.5 W, 13 W peak

All the features of TinySwitch-III, plus a peak power mode further extending its power capability.

TOPSwitch®-GX Flyback Up to 210 W
Extended power range with UV detection, OV shutdown, externally programmable current limit and remote On/OFF capability.
TOPSwitch®-HX Flyback Up to 254 W
Incorporates a 700 V power MOSFET, high voltage switched current source, PWM control, oscillator, thermal shutdown circuit, fault protection and other control circuitry onto a monolithic device
